It all started when some cocaine-sniffing triumph went on a MySpace tear about homeless people and the bleeding heart enablers who just stand there and let such trash ramble and beg for money instead of beating the shit out of them, like her boyfriend Eddie does.
We are thinking about proving this nuisance and need for civil action by making a short film called “Eddie Rolls on the Homeless,” whereby Mark secretly videotapes me and Lil Sis in a variety of situations to see how many homeless people approach us and, then, how many of these situations escalate into harrassment. Then, he’s gonna videotape Eddie in the same scenarios, only Eddie is going to beat up every homeless person who escalates the contact after being told that his panhandling is illegal and annoying.
This rantage got a lot of traction in the leftysphere and as usual it’s the comment threads that reveal the underbelly as enlightened liberals bend their heads over the “amount” of “charity”, in terms of “human” contact advisable to offer the Others who shake up their little worlds, when to call the cops, and where society should, you know “put” us.
I read every thread and for once didn’t barge in and say wrong, wrong wrong, not even when vagrants were compared to alligators, or when the talk turned to shooting the severe & persistent mentally ill. I’m not burnt out, I was impressed.
An old friend told me people would rather look at a house filled with burning children than into the eyes of a mentally ill person. Good people too I guess since there’s plenty evidence of that sentiment in the liberal blogosphere but it’s getting called out by people who know what they’re talking about and spare nothing in taking the psycho-bigots to school. Every time. Hooray for them. This glass is half full.
